Deoxycholic acid naturally occurs in the digestive tract to break down fats in the foods we eat. It is the main ingredient in KYBELLA®. When injected into the fat beneath the chin, it breaks down the fat into tiny particles, preparing it to be processed and removed by the body.
What you can expect during your visit:
After your appointment, you may experience localized redness with mild to moderate swelling and tenderness for the remainder of the day. This may last up to a few days after treatment.
Your results will become visible two to three months after a full series of treatments. The results may continue to improve over the next six to twelve months and are typically lifelong.
