How Does Excel V+ Work?
The laser utilizes two clinically proven wavelengths of light to bring about “controlled damage” to the targeted treatment area. Laser energy pulses convert into heat energy, promoting blood clotting and coagulation within the vein. Resultantly, the vessels collapse, seal off from other vessels, and are resorbed gradually by the body. Collateral blood flow rerouts to deeper veins, and the skin regains its natural color.

What can
I Expect?
A complimentary skin consultation is required prior to your treatment to assess the treatment area and determine if the Cutera Excel V+ is appropriate for your skin condition.
- Arrive to the clinic with clean skin. Avoid spray-tans, depilatories topical medications and retinal products for 2 weeks prior to your treatment.
- Topical anesthetics are not required.
- Depending on your skin condition, the appropriate handpiece is passed over the affected area until target endpoint is achieved.
- Treatment time is typically 15-20 mins, depending on the skin condition.
- You may experience mild warmth, tingling or snapping sensations throughout the treatment, which subside once the treatment is completed.
- Mild to moderate swelling can occur after treatment.
- Avoid hot tubs, sauna’s or heat inducing exercises for 72 hours after treatment.
- Wear sunscreen on the treatment area at all times when outdoors.
- A series of treatments may be required to reach your desired result.
Anticipated Results
In General, brown general, brown spots/lesions/freckles, will initially become darker for 7-10 days, then sough-off naturally, leaving behind lighter, natural tone skin. Small red vessels may disappear immediately, while larger, feeder vessels may appear “matted” or bruised until the vessel is absorbed by the body. A series of treatments will most likely be required to reach optimal results. Results will vary, depending upon the severity of the skin condition.
